HEIDI YIN

Heidi is a Level IV thesis student in the Honours Life Science program. Her research focuses on investigating Cannabinoid receptors in rat paw skins responsible for nociceptor modulation in a chronic pain model. In her spare time she enjoys trying new food and playing piano.

AYESHA SHAHID

Ayesha is a 4th year student specializing in Biology and Pharmacology Co-op, currently in her second co-op term at the Singh lab. Currently she is analyzing tissues from rat models of neuropathic pain to visualize and quantify differences in nerve repair between the different cannabinoid treatment groups via immunohistochemistry techniques. Outside of the lab Ayesha enjoys painting, reading, volunteering, and eating.

CELENE TITUS

Celene is a 4th year Biology and Pharmacology student in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Her research focuses on the effect of gonadectomy on nociception in a preclinical model of post-surgical neuropathic pain. She performs various behavioural testing on rats such as the Von Frey test, Acetone test and the Dynamic Weight Bearing test.  Outside of the lab, she loves to travel and hike. Celene also plays for the Women’s McMaster Squash team and has been playing badminton since juniors. 

WENDY WANG

Wendy is a 4th-year co-op student in Biology & Pharmacology at McMaster University. Her research focuses on the effect of CBD and THC on resident cells of the thymus and spleen using immunohistochemistry. Outside of the lab, Wendy enjoys photography, hiking, and going on local food adventures. 

SARAH YANG

Sarah is currently a second year student studying Health Sciences at McMaster University. She is currently investigating tissue specific receptor levels at the protein level using western blotting.  Outside the lab, she enjoys travelling the world, eating great food and watching Netflix.
